Throughout human history every now and then a story about an apple and a snake pops up.
Here is another one...
About
Snake Escape is a puzzle game where you guide a height fearing snake trapped inside a series of rooms.
Your goal is to help the snake break free. In every level, there’s an apple to find—once eaten, it unlocks the path to the next challenge.
This game runs on any MSX2 (or higher) computer with at least 64 KB of RAM and 128 KB of VRAM.
What to expect?
A snake with acrophobia (fear of heights) that grows longer with every step, apples to collect, obstacles to avoid, and helpful tools to aid your escape—such as crates, TNT, detonators, and mushrooms.
Passwords
After completing an episode of five levels, you will receive a password. You can enter these passwords on the password screen.
This screen can be accessed by selecting “Continue” from the main menu.
Level editor
Think you can make better levels? The full game includes a level editor that lets you create your own levels and save them to disk, so you can share them with fellow MSX fanatics.
Music
Although the game can be played without it, using an FM-PAC sound cartridge (or an MSX computer with MSX-MUSIC built in) is recommended to experience the game as it was meant to be enjoyed, featuring music by Hans Cnossen.
Playable demo
We created a small playable demo so you can get a taste of the game.
There are 2 ways to play this demo:
You can either download the ROM file for use in an emulator (in BlueMSX choose 'Mirrored ROM' as ROM type) or play it online.
